What Makes Up the POSEIDON City System
Receivers

Every LED luminaire that is part of a public lighting system and will be controlled via POSEIDON City must be equipped with a receiver using NEMA or ZHAGA connectivity. NEMA and ZHAGA are industry standards that ensure compatibility between luminaires and control systems.
Our product range includes NEMA-based modules designed for control and pre-dimming, as well as analog or DALI output versions for ZHAGA, available as built-in or external variants.
Receivers are also available with a GPS module. The GPS-enabled version automatically sets its location and time, simplifying deployment and eliminating the need for manual configuration. The system is designed to be versatile and includes basic features that support further building automation — for example, triggering fountain pumps, controlling irrigation schedules, activating alerts, or managing visitor mode lighting.
Gateways

The Gateway provides communication between the server and the receivers. It transfers signals over long distances, enabling remote control of individual luminaires according to configurations in the POSEIDON City application.
Lighting operators and technical staff can work in the web interface, accessible from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. With a single click, they can:
-
view energy consumption overview,
-
manage groups of luminaires,
-
create and adjust lighting schedules.
System monitoring runs in real time, allowing technicians to respond immediately to alerts and resolve issues remotely.
Individual receivers can also be configured on-site using NFC mobile app pairing. During installation, you can easily create a list of installed luminaires and verify settings directly in the POSEIDON City system.
Accessories

Motion sensors for public lighting enable energy savings by adjusting brightness based on presence detection. The sensor increases brightness when movement is detected, and smoothly dims or switches off when the area is empty.
They also help increase safety in public spaces.

Intuitive Public Lighting Management
A system that simply works — and speaks your language.
Proven wireless technology, easy operation, clear visualization, and support directly from the manufacturer.
-
The dashboard displays the current status of selected lighting groups. It also shows energy consumption for individual luminaires or lighting groups — per day, month, or year.
-
Each luminaire can be controlled individually — turned on, turned off, dimmed, or brightened. To avoid time-consuming individual adjustments, luminaires can be organized into custom groups (e.g., districts, streets, or zones). Groups can then be controlled collectively.
-
The application displays a map with all lighting points. You can locate any luminaire directly in the map and control it (turn on, turn off, adjust brightness, etc.).
-
Flexible scheduling allows creating standard schedules and additional custom plans. Users can easily set different lighting profiles for specific days or time periods, ensuring optimal performance and energy savings based on actual needs.
Poseidon NFC
Managing smart public lighting no longer requires lengthy procedures, special equipment, or complicated workflows.
The new application brings all key tools directly to your mobile phone – allowing you to configure devices, run diagnostics, and conveniently control luminaires on-site.
-
Poseidon NFC enables fast and intuitive configuration of end devices. Simply tap your phone to the device to instantly access its full configuration menu.
-
All parameter settings are available directly in the mobile app. You can also add a custom label or description to help with field orientation and future maintenance.
-
Without needing an online connection during installation, you can set intensity, lighting profiles, and operating modes based on real needs.
-
Each configuration can be saved and backed up for future use. This ensures your setup will not be lost.
-
The application enables data collection and export from individual devices. The collected information can be used for analysis and overall management of the POSEIDON City lighting system.
-
Thanks to NFC technology, reading and writing device data is fast and completely wireless.
The application is designed for the configuration and diagnostics of POSEIDON City devices and is intended for qualified professionals only.

FAQ
Each LED luminaire that is part of public lighting and will be wirelessly controlled using the POSEIDON® City system should be equipped with a NEMA or ZHAGA socket. NEMA and ZHAGA refer to two different industrial receiver standards that enable communication with the control system. For luminaires that do not include these sockets, it is possible to use universal receivers L8 R DL10 V or L8 R DL10 VG, which are also suitable for controlling designer luminaires. Thanks to the built-in relay, the receivers can also be used as switching elements in many installations requiring remote management.
It is not necessary to replace existing wiring. If the luminaires are older and do not support electronic dimming, we recommend replacing them with more modern and energy-efficient ones.
In our product range you will find control modules for NEMA sockets (for analog or DALI output drivers), ZHAGA DALI modules, and both built-in and external receiver variants. The system is compatible with most commonly used LED drivers.
Yes, the system is modular and can be expanded in phases. You can start, for example, with main streets and gradually connect additional parts of the city.
Basic installation and operation do not require training. For advanced configuration and integration into municipal platforms, short basic training is recommended.
Yes, the system enables real-time monitoring, including energy consumption of individual luminaires and their status reporting. The status is visible in the luminaire list or in the detailed view of each luminaire.
Fault reporting is handled by email notifications based on user settings, along with a status overview in the POSEIDON® City control system.
After power restoration, the system follows the previously configured settings. It can continue in the same mode as before the outage or apply predefined intensity settings.
If network communication is lost, receivers switch to an emergency schedule. The emergency schedule is a time plan stored automatically in every receiver.
Astro mode replaces commonly used twilight switches. It determines lighting times based on local sunrise and sunset.
Dimming allows setting different light intensities according to schedules and usage needs.
The system supports individual configuration for each street or zone.
Yes, the system allows integration after verifying compatibility.
This depends on the number of luminaires and achieved energy savings. Typical return on investment ranges from 5–8 years due to energy savings and reduced maintenance costs. You can use the savings calculator for orientation.
Yes. In addition to an annual time schedule, the system allows creating temporary “Extra” schedules, for example for Christmas lighting or cultural events.
The basic software and control functions do not require mandatory monthly fees. Optional services, updates, or cloud platforms may have additional charges depending on the project and customer requirements.
This depends on the specific project and configuration. Recommended maintenance practices are always discussed with the customer before system deployment.
Encrypted communication between receivers and control software.
Access is protected by user accounts and passwords.
Optional role-based permissions.
Warranty for servers, gateways, and luminaires follows standard legislation (2–5 years). ENIKA provides a 5-year warranty on ENIKA products, along with service support, diagnostics, and consulting.
In addition to separate time schedules for each group, a physical push-button can be used to control defined luminaire groups according to preset scenes.
Yes, the system supports integration of motion sensors that increase lighting only when movement is detected, saving energy.
The system uses LoRaWAN wireless communication in the unlicensed 868 MHz band.
